アヘドレは、1950年代のチェスプレイヤーたちにインスパイアされ、時間と空間の概念を巧みに遊びます。

「アヘドレは、私の祖父と過去のチェスプレイヤーたちへの賛辞であり、同時に今日歴史を作りつつある若い世代を祝うものです。チェスマスターたちは深い集中に入ります。ほとんど瞑想的な状態に達し、私はその時間が遅く流れるというアイデアを香水に表現したかったのです。」と、FRASSAÏの創設者でありクリエイティブディレクターのナタリア・アウトエダは語っています。

この香水は、1950年代のチェスプレイヤーたちの薄暗い部屋に私たちを運びます。そこでは、空気が優雅な紳士の香りを優しく漂わせています。乾燥したスパイス、アイリス、タバコのほのかな香り、そして苔の香りが感じられます。ゲームはゆっくりと進行し、FRASSAÏが丹精込めて作り上げた香水のように。

時間は前進することも、後退することもあります。時間は反転します。時には、時間が止まったように感じることもあります。その一時停止の中にこそ、重要な意味があります。静止している中に、動きがあるのです。

アルゼンチンの短編小説作家でエッセイストのホルヘ・ルイス・ボルヘスは、彼の文学において繰り返しチェスを人生のメタファーとして引用しています。ボルヘスはそのソネット「Ajedrez」で、ゲームは無限であり、時間は永遠であることを示唆しています。「Como el otro, este juego es infinito.（他のように、このゲームも無限である）」。

Story｜
AJEDREZ (chess). Inspired by the chess players of the 50s, the perfume plays with the notion of time and space.
“Ajedrez is a tribute to my grandfather and to the chess players of the past while celebrating the younger generations making history today. Chess masters enter into deep concentration, reaching an almost meditative state. I wanted to capture this idea of slowed time in a perfume.” says Natalia Outeda, FRASSAÏ’s founder and creative director.
The fragrance transports us to a 1950s chess players’ dimly lit room, where the air gently exudes the elegant fragrance of a well-dressed gentleman; dry spices, iris, a hint of tobacco, and moss. The game develops slowly, like FRASSAI’s carefully crafted perfumes.
Time can move forward, or backward. Time is inverted. Sometimes, it seems to stand still. The pause gains importance. In standing still, there is movement.
In his literature, Argentine short story writer and essayist Jorge Luis Borges repeatedly references the chess game as a metaphor for life. In his sonnet “Ajedrez” Borges suggests that the game is infinite and time eternal: “Como el otro, este juego es infinito.”
